An exciting and brand-new position in the National Buying Commercial team has opened! This role will support the rollout and transition of the Global Buying initiative, Negotiation Support Application (NSA). We are looking for a data-driven, commercial, and pro-active individual to join our team! The NSA initiative comprises of two elements:

  • Launching a useable negotiation support application for Buying (a web based off-the-shelf application which is currently in use in Global Sourcing)
  • Implementing a National COIN (Commodity Insight) structure which feeds into a Global COIN community, driving best practice sharing and utilisation of central resources (market data, insight and expertise) for negotiation support

The National COIN Coordinator (NCC) plays an important role in supporting the Buying teams with quantitative and qualitative information to drive better-informed decision making throughout negotiations, collaborating closely with the Global COIN community to leverage resources, data and insight. In addition, the NCC will be the system expert of the new negotiation support application and drive on-going developments to further enhance our data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Your New Role

  • Serving as the bridge between the global COIN team and National Buying teams to ensure that relevant information enables data-driven buying decisions
  • Being the system expert of the new negotiation support tool, answering queries and supporting the National Buying teams with efficient use of the tool
  • Representing National interests within the COIN Community
  • First point of contact for National requests towards the COIN Community
  • Request creation for National data needs and requests
  • Providing feedback on creation and delivery of requests within the COIN Community
  • Utilising all tools and data available to provide insights on relevant commodities for the National Buying teams
  • Give operational feedback on data provisions and connections
  • Providing input on desired areas of training for the National Buying teams
  • Coordination of requests for additional stakeholders

About You

  • Previous analytical work experience
  • Knowledge of commodity data platforms (i.e. IHS, Mintec)
  • Communication - able to translate complex data and information into meaningful and actionable insights
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills to work with different teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Good understanding of data landscape and knowledge of buying processes
  • Able to identify opportunities for improvement and confident contributing ideas upwards
  • Comfortable presenting to, and communicating with, Buying Managers and Buying Directors
  • Ability to learn quickly - adapting to new systems and analytical tools
  • Attention to detail

What You’ll get in Return

  • Salary from £47,045 rising to £51,635
  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working
